When you have to make a piece of jewelry where you have to use clamp beads, the tiger wire is the best. It consists of a number of thin steel wires that are twisted together and coated with nylon.

Silver-plated and gold-plated brass or copper have a shorter shelf life, as the gilding/silver plating will rub off over time. Also be aware that there are few people who get allergic reactions from brass.
