What are the different pliers used for?
Pointed pliers:
These pliers are, as the name suggests, pointed and flat. It is good for reaching places where there is very little space. For example is it good for clamping clamping beads with, as there is often very little space when the clamping bead needs to be clamped in place between the last bead and the lock.
The pointed pliers are also indispensable when making figures of eight. You use it to hold onto the fishing net when you finally wrap the thread around itself 2-3 times. It's also really good at making the bitten off end lie nicely against the windings you've made, so that it doesn't bristle and get in the way.
In addition, the pointed pliers can be used to bend right angles on the wire. With two pointed pliers you can open and close Jump rings without them getting marks and in a way so that the two ends meet exactly.
Pliers:
The round pliers have two round jaws that point to the end of the pliers. It is used to make round shapes like when you have to make the fishnet on your figure eight. Depending on where on the tip of the pliers you bend yours jump ring to the figure of eight, you get a different size of the fishing net.
Consider what size the eye net should be. If it is to be large, work with the part of the jaws closest to the handle and if the eyelet is to be small, work with the opposite end of the jaws of the round pliers.
If you are going to make a piece of jewelery where uniformity in the figures of eight is very important, you can use a thin permanent marker to put a small line on the place on the round pliers you want to work, so that all Jump rings will be the same size.
Pliers:
The nipper is, as the name suggests, good for biting jewelry wire. It works well with silver, gold, double, unhardened brass, copper, leather, nylon cord and more.
It is not recommended to bite steel wire with it, as it requires pliers made of a stronger material, and will destroy the jewelry biting pliers.

In this way, you can avoid situations where you cannot bite off the remaining thread far enough towards the jewelry. It just looks tastier when the details are in place!

How do I take care of my jewelry pliers?
If you take good care of your tongs, they can last for the rest of your life.
It is important to avoid sources of moisture as this will cause the pliers to rust. If there is rust on the pliers, it will mark your jewelry wire, so be sure to wipe it off if water gets on it.
If necessary, give it a little machine oil as a regular routine once a year. If it is already rusted, if the rust is relatively superficial, it can be cleaned using machine oil and the coarse side of a dish sponge.
