How to use pearl wands?
Bead rods are used to make pendants for jewelry making and are an important part of many jewelry projects. Here you will find both head pins and eye pins, which can be used to mount pearls on earrings, necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery.
Bead rods typically have either a ball or a flat end, which acts as a stopper and holds the bead in place. You can read a lot more about the different types of beading rods, head pins and eye pins and which projects they are best suited for here.
It is important that the pearl rod fits the hole size in the pearl. If the hole is too big, you can use a smaller one pearl or a pearl bowl to finish.
The end that sticks out of the bead can be shaped into one jump ring, so the pendant can be mounted on, for example, a chain, a hoop or an ear hook. What tool should be used for pearl rods?
When working with pearl rods, head pins and eye pins, it is beneficial to have the right tools for jewelry making. For eights and Jump rings we recommend a pair of round pliers, a pointed flat-nose pliers and a pair of pliers.
The round pliers are used to shape the round shape of the eyelet, while the pointed flat pliers are used to adjust and straighten the work. The pliers are used to cut off the excess part of the pearl rod after winding.
