Choose the right cord for your jewelry project
When you have to design a piece of jewelry, whether it is a pendant on a string, a pearl chain, a woven or knotted pearl bracelet, it is important that you use the right string for your work.
It is crucial for the aesthetics of the finished piece of jewelry and also for durability and functionality and for how comfortable it is to wear the piece.

Sustainable string made of plastic from the sea
One of the newest shots on the trunk in Beadhouse is tying line made of plastic from the sea. Isn't it fantastic that sustainability has also found its way into the world of jewellery? In any case, we are excited and think it is a great product.
We have it in many beautiful colors and it is colorfast, so it won't fade quickly in the sun like a cotton string would. It is available in thicknesses of 0.8 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm.
It is super strong and ideal for tying or using as a lanyard around the neck. The ends of our marine plastic tying line can be gently melted with a lighter so they don't fray.
Wire wrapping
Wirewrapping is a technique where you wind one wire around another. It is a good technique to know because you can make the most beautiful jewelery with the technique and you only need to use metal wire, possibly one or more stones and/or pearls, round pliers, flat pliers and nippers.
There is a universe of possibilities with the wirewrapping technique both for beginners and the more experienced. You can both make necklaces, finger rings, bangles, bracelets and earrings with this technique.
If you have never tried working with wirewrapping before, it may be a good idea to start with a cheap metal wire, so that you can get the hang of it. Good luck with your next jewelry design!
