If there is something we are proud of, it is our range of small pearls. I Beadhouse we have them in over 500 different colors and in up to seven different sizes.
Our selection spans seed beads, also called Greenlandic pearls or rocailles pearls, rocai pearls, delica and bugles.
In addition to the classic, clear beads, we also offer colored beads that can bring life and color to any project. The colored beads are popular with customers who want to add an extra dimension with color variations in their creations.
Small pearls in a world of colors
Small pearls are like magic jewels in miniature size. These enchanting beads are made of glass and come in a cornucopia of colors.
Despite their modest size, these beads have incredible impact and are a beloved craft material among jewelry makers, designers, costume makers, artists, and other creatives who often use them for jewelry.
With their beauty and versatility, small pearls offer countless opportunities to create delicate and detailed jewelry, decorative objects, and works of art that both amazes and enchants.
We would recommend all opaque, i.e. dyed through, pearls or Miyuki Duracoat etc. beads for use in jewelry with body contact to guarantee a longer durability.
Many possibilities with small pearls
The fine little pearls are really versatile. You can weave the finest pearl bracelets on pearl looms. Here are especially the tubular ones Miyuki Delica suitable, as their perfect uniformity means that they fit perfectly and tightly together in the pattern.
Try playing with matte, shiny, transparent and opaque beads when weaving. It gives a nice play in your finished, woven project.
Among our customers, there are many exciting projects underway with our small pearls - in addition to the many who make the finest pearl necklaces and pearl bracelets, there are also many other imaginative ways to use them.
Some crochet and knit with them. One makes art from them, one makes the most beautiful sculptures, one makes lamps with pearls. Others make the most delicious fringe earrings and the trendy French pearl flowers. There are almost no limits to what you can do with our beautiful little pearls and jewellery.
What kind of bead is right for your project?
When choosing pearls, there are a few things to consider. You need to think about whether you should use a large or small pearl. The smallest we have measure 2.1 mm, and the largest measure 4.6 mm. The 2.5 mm difference from the smallest pearl to the largest doesn't sound like much - but it actually makes a world of difference.
If you are in doubt as to which pearl is the best for your project, you can read a lot more about the different types here!
A rule of thumb is that the more delicate you want your bead work to be, the smaller the bead needed.
If you are going to weave or embroider with pearls, it is recommended to use the smallest pearls, as they lie close together, and in this way you achieve an almost textile-like texture.
The slightly larger of our small pearls can be used, among other things, for pearl necklaces, pearl flowers, pearl bracelets and fringe earrings - as well as as a fine detail in jewellery.
The largest pearls can become a fine, slightly more chunky pearl necklace or be the decisive detail, for example in a knotted bracelet or on a French pearl flower.
