Silver rings and gold-plated rings - Quality & durability

At Beadhouse of Copenhagen you will find a wide selection of rings in sterling silver, gold-plated silver and other beautiful materials. Sterling silver (925 silver) is one of the most popular metals for jewelry, as it combines strength, elegance and durability.

Many of our gold-plated silver rings are produced in Italy from certified recycled silver and stamped with 925 & BOC, which is your guarantee of high quality. After production, they are sent to our local gilder in Copenhagen, where they are given a thick gold coating that ensures a long shelf life - typically between 1-2 years depending on use.

Do you want to ensure that your gold-plated ring stays beautiful for longer? You can read more in our guide on how to extend the shelf life of your gold-plated jewellery!

How do you measure your ring size?

When you want to buy a finger ring, it can be difficult to know which size to use. Fortunately, you can measure your ring size yourself at home using the two methods described here.

The first method is good when you need to shop for rings for yourself, but are unsure of which ring size to use.

The second method can both used for yourself, but also if you want to buy a finger ring as a gift for someone else.

Pay attention to this when measuring your ring size:

Ring size can vary from right to left hand, as we have slightly more muscles in the hand we use the most.

Heat and cold can also affect which ring size you use, so make sure you measure your ring size when your hands are neither very hot nor very cold.

Pregnant women often have slightly swollen fingers, although this is not necessarily noticeable.

A very narrow and/or rounded ring rail may require you to go down a ring size.

A wide and straight ring rail may require you to go up a ring size.

Ring sizes for adults are typically between 49 and 65 millimeters.

Method 1 - Measure the finger

You will need a thin strip of paper or a piece of ribbon, a marker and a ruler.

The paper strip is wrapped around the knuckle of the finger you want the ring on. Do not tighten the strip unnecessarily, but as you imagine the ring should feel when it goes over your knuckle. Mark with the marker where the strip crosses itself. Measure the piece with a ruler. The number of millimeters the strip measures corresponds to a ring size. For example, if the strip measures 54 millimeters, the ring size on that finger is size 54. Feel free to do the experiment a few times to be absolutely sure that you have measured correctly.

Method 2 – Measure a ring

Measure the inside diameter of a ring. A ruler can be used, but it will be more accurate with a caliper if you have one. When you have found the measurement of the inner diameter in millimeters, you can find out which ring size it corresponds to on the table below.
