What beads can you knit with?
When you want to knit with pearls it is essential that your yarn can pass through the hole on the bead. That's why we have a nice small selection of large ones Preciosa Seed Beads with particularly large holes.
If you just can't stand pearls with smaller holes, you can tie a sewing thread to the end of your yarn and in that way get the pearls onto the yarn. It is a bit complicated but can give a really nice result. Just look at Lærke Bagger's beautiful creations.
A good piece of advice from here is to avoid coated beads for knitting projects as they lose the coating (colour) and the knitting project can therefore look a bit sad and colourless.
Knits with pearls should be cleaned, not washed. Lærke Bagger recommends that you possibly find a dry cleaner that is used to handling Indian and Pakistani clothing, as they are often heavily encrusted with pearls. Have fun with your knitting with beads!
